Not really. In fact, I had conch fritters – but it sure seemed like paradise.

I got the opportunity to come down to Key West for a few days for work. So far the town has been great. I am working in the airport – and it is just as small and quaint as you would imagine.

As I got off work yesterday – I walked down A1A to my hotel.  It was about a mile – the views were spectacular. Water as far as the eye could see – I didn’t have time to take any pictures because I was rushing for my next destination after the hotel.

Sunset.

Yes,  sunset in Key West is really a destination. I didn’t go all the way down to Mallory Square – which is the traditional spot to watch the southernmost sunset in the continental US. Instead,  I went to a small pier a little north of there.  The crowds were smaller and the pictures were a bit more scenic.

Following that I took a stroll around town and ended up at The Porch. A nice little craft beer bar on Duval Street.  The bartenders were nice and the beers were different. My kind of place. I tried a coconut ale from Miami Brewing called Big Rod. It was really tasty – not at all what I expected. Light and refreshing – perfect island beer.

Looking forward to my next couple of days here in paradise. Maybe I’ll get that cheeseburger…

Stay tuned for some better pictures from my real camera.  The pictures in this post are from my cell phone…
